AOD Counselling 

60 MINUTES $135 for individuals
60 Minutes $160 for Couples or family Groups

As an AOD practitioner, I work with people experiencing problems with alcohol, drugs, gambling, eating disorders etc. I counsel people to help them to identify behaviours and problems related to their behaviours. Counselling can be done on an individual basis, in couple / family /or group settings. 

Often, I will work with family members who are affected by the behaviours of their loved ones. Referral to day programmes or residential (live-in) programmes is sometimes required or mandated.  In whatever modality counselling is undertaken, it provides the client with an opportunity to discuss their relationship with the problem substance or behaviour and it's impact on their life and/or those around them.

AOD Counselling is a specialised form of counselling that views serious and problematic use of a substance or behaviour as a symptom of underlying issues – inevitably such underlying issues are present. In the initial stages, the problematic and addictive elements of one’s life are assessed, the information evaluated and a specialised treatment plan developed. PAYMENT

Fees are payable by EFTPOS, cash or internet banking on the day of your appointment.  There is no extra charge if using a debit card, however there is a 3% surcharge on credit cards.

ASSISTANCE

I am also a registered counsellor with  Work and Income (WINZ).   You can check online or with your local WINZ office to find out whether you are eligible for financial assistance through The Disability Allowance from Work and Income . Work and Income (WINZ) subsidises counselling for beneficiaries and low income earners (including NZ Superannuitants and students) through the Disability Allowance. You can receive this Allowance if you meet income criteria and your Doctor agrees that you need counselling. 

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. 

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, or no-shows will incur the standard session fee.
