Couple Counselling

Couple counselling is a process that supports couples to gain a greater awareness and understanding of patterns within the relationship. Counselling provides the support and encouragement to put the new learning, skills and strategies into practice. This process is both challenging and rewarding for the couple that are ready to take these steps. Are you ready?
Couples come to counselling with issues such as poor communication, unhelpful patterns or cycles, intimacy issues, infidelity etc. These issues take time to work through, enabling the establishment of new patterns of behaviour within the relationship.
I approach couple counselling differently to individual counselling and it is my belief that I need to be very responsive to your needs in counselling sessions and this requires me to be proactive, and intervene if required. This allows you both heard to be heard and any escalations are interrupted. This creates new awareness and the possibility for change is being modeled in session. Change comes from doing things differently, not repeating the same patterns. It is then couple's job to practice the new behaviours between sessions so that the new behaviours become embedded.
PAYMENT
Fees are payable by EFTPOS, cash or internet banking on the day of your appointment. There is no extra charge if using a debit card, however there is a 3% surcharge on credit cards.
ASSISTANCE
I am also a registered counsellor with Work and Income (WINZ). You can check online or with your local WINZ office to find out whether you are eligible for financial assistance through The Disability Allowance from Work and Income . Work and Income (WINZ) subsidises counselling for beneficiaries and low income earners (including NZ Superannuitants and students) through the Disability Allowance. You can receive this Allowance if you meet income criteria and your Doctor agrees that you need counselling.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment, please let me know as soon as possible.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, or no-shows will incur the standard session fee.
